"The Hunger Games" star, Sam Claflin, has stated that he's definitely ready to return in a prequel, if there is such one
Sam Claflin, who played one of the tributes in The Hunger Games, Finnick Odair, has stated that he will 100% return in a prequel if one is being made. But, not in his role...
Here's What We Know
Following the success of The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes prequel, many are pinning their hopes on the creation of other spin-offs based on The Hunger Games universe, revealing the history of characters from the first films. This includes the story of the audience-favourite Finnick.
Claflin is also hoping for a separate film about his character and has even stated that he will definitely return for filming, but not as Finnick, but as his father, for example. The actor believes he's getting too old for his role from the original film:
"I don't know if there's room for me to go back. I'm too old now" - Claflin said in an interview with Variety. "I've heard rumors that people are asking for a Finnick prequel, and all I'm gonna say is that I would be all in for Finnick's dad."
At this point, there is no reason to believe that there will be spin-offs based on The Hunger Games. This is primarily because franchise director Francis Lawrence has stated that any future installments must be based on the idea of book author Suzanne Collins, who has yet to write any novels that tell a post-Mockingjay story.
