'Top Gun' star, Glen Powell, hints at a third film: 'There will be some interesting developments announced soon'
There are rumours of a third part of the action film "Top Gun" starring Tom Cruise. Another actor of the film - Glen Powell, who played the role of an arrogant student of Top Gun School, known as "Hangman", expressed his opinion on this matter (and it should be noted, quite intriguing).
Here's What We Know
Powell let slip in an interview with Variety that we're about to be treated to the announcement of something very interesting:
"There is going to be some fun stuff being announced soon…but it was confidential to me. I talk to [Maverick director Joseph] Kosinski, Cruise and Jerry [Bruckheimer, producer] all the time. There is stuff happening and it sounds very exciting. I don't know when I'll be going back… I'm sure there is a jet waiting for me sometime in the future."
There's no plot information at the moment, as the third instalment has yet to be officially confirmed. But we're pretty sure it will see the light of day, as "Maverick" was a summer box office hit, bringing in over $1 billion worldwide. It was so successful after years of pandemic that Steven Spielberg credited Tom Cruise with saving Hollywood.
The only catch is that it looks like filming "Top Gun 3" will have to wait a bit longer, as Cruise is busy filming "Mission: Impossible" and a new project at Warner Bros. Pictures. Discovery.
