Following the success of Harlan Coben's thriller Fool Me Once on Netflix, two more works by the author are set to be screened
Following the success of the mini-series based on the crime thriller Fool Me Once, two more series adapted from Harlan Coben's novels are in development.
Here's What We Know
Coben is known for his mastery of intricate, mind-bending thrillers. Almost all of his works, of which there are over 30, are bestsellers. Some of them have already received screen adaptations and quite successful ones, with the latest one called "Fool Me Once" breaking into the Netflix top 10 just a few weeks after its premiere.
Now Netflix has announced two new film adaptations of Harlan Coben's detectives, "Missing You" and "Run Away".
"Missing You" is about a woman named Kat Donovan who finds her ex-fiancé, who has been missing for 11 whole years, on a dating site. She wants to find out how he turned out, but as soon as she opens his profile on the site, an unimaginable conspiracy theory built around her person is uncovered. Based on the Netflix synopsis: "Josh's reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past."
The series will begin filming this spring season.
"Missing You" will be followed by "Run Away," which focuses on a father's relationship with his estranged daughter. The series will tell the story of Simon, a man with a perfect life that came crashing down when his eldest daughter Paige ran away from home. One day he meets her by chance in the park. But what he sees before him is no longer the flighty girl he remembers her to be, but a woman who is badly frightened and clearly in trouble. He tries to bring her home, but she just runs away again. Simon has no choice but to follow her into a dark and dangerous world he never knew existed, putting his family's lives and his own on the line.
Nothing is currently known about the cast or a filming start date.
While we wait for updates on "Missing You" and "Run Away" be sure to watch "Fool Me Once" to familiarise yourself with Coben's work.
