The first poster of the long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton's Beetlejuice 2 has appeared online along with the official title.

Here's What We Know

The second part of the cult horror film will be called "Beetlejuice-Beetlejuice".

Do not hurry to be surprised. Most likely, this is a reference to the children's fun of summoning the "Queen of Spades". If you say her name three times, she'll appear - whether you want her to or not. So take heart that Beetlejuice's name has already been called twice.

On the poster, you can see two hands holding a long paper with the film's release date and the caption "The wait is almost over."

To a true fan of the original film, this will remind you of the waiting room in the netherworld where souls take a number. In the finale of the first film, Beetlejuice takes a number and the number of digits on the paper looks comically long.

The previous year, Tim Burton posted a photo from the filming location where the waiting room could also be seen. This hints that the sequel will probably continue the story where the first film ended.

Here's What The Movie Is About

We haven't been given plot details yet, but we do know that the script is written by Wednesday writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, so we're in for something amazing.

Winona Ryder will return as the iconic Lydia Deetz, Catherine O'Hara will play Delia Deetz, and Michael Keaton will return as the wily misfit and Harvard Business School graduate, Beetlejuice. Wednesday herself, Jenna Ortega, will play Lydia's daughter and Monica Bellucci will play Beetlejuice's wife.

The cast will also be joined by Willem Dafoe as a ghostly detective. Justin Theroux has reportedly joined the cast in an unannounced role.

When We Can Expect It

"Beetlejuice-Beetlejuice" is set for release on September 6, 2024.
