"Dune 2" becomes Denis Villeneuve's highest-rated film with a near-perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes
Director Denis Villeneuve can be proud - it's not often that the second part of a film surpasses the first, but that's exactly what happened with "Dune." "Dune: Part Two" is now Villeneuve's highest rated film on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a 97% rating based on over 100 reviews.
Here's What We Know
Overall, none of the director's films are low-rated, but "Dune 2'" score on the Tomatometer was the highest of Villeneuve's career, surpassing "Arrival" with its 94% and "Sicario" with 92%. His least rated film "Enemy" still achieves 71%.
As a reminder, the sequel to the 2021 sci-fi drama "Dune" is an adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 novel.
Starring Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, the film continues the plot following his family's horrific betrayal by House Harkonnen. When he and Lady Jessica find themselves in the deserts of Arrakis, they join forces with the Fremen people to wage war against the house that betrayed them.
The sequel also stars Zendaya as Chani, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck and Austin Butler as Fade-Route.
