Cola Wars: Sony's film division will make a film about the grand confrontation between Pepsi and Coca-Cola
The media reported that the story of the competitive struggle between the companies Coca-Cola and Pepsi for leadership in the market of carbonated drinks will get a film adaptation.
Here's What We Know
Sony won the rights to shoot the film Cola Wars, based on real events that took place in the 1980s.
The century-long battle between the brands went down in history as the Cola Wars and became one of the longest and most intense corporate confrontations.
Obtaining the licence to make the film cost Sony an admittedly $1 million, but insiders put the figure at $1.5 million.
The Cola Wars script will be written by Jason Shuman and Ben Queen, with the former being a Pepsi drinker and the latter preferring Coca-Cola.
Of course, it's too early to talk about the film's release date.
