Warner Bros. plans to create about 10 anime projects a year to attract new audiences
Anime is one of the most popular types of animation. Japanese animation has gone far beyond the borders of its own country and has an audience of many millions in Australia and Ukraine (fill in any other country here). And large companies understand that it is possible to attract a new audience thanks to anime, and one of these companies is Warner Bros. Discovery is one of them.
Here's What We Know
Warner Bros. Discovery will engage its Japanese anime studio to create up to ten projects per year. The company also notes that anime is one of the best ways to reach the audience aged 18 to 30.
Warner Bros. looked at the DC universe and thought: "Can we take these characters and reimagine them in the anime world?" But the company understands that it's not that easy, because you have to do it right. You also need to work with the right studios to do it and build your fan base.
WB is currently making the final adjustments to ISEKAI Suicide Squad, an anime series based on DC comic book characters. It is being created by Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio, a renowned Japanese studio known for the Attack on Titan series.
In the story, the Suicide Squad is sent to the afterlife. The team will find a world of swords and magic, where orcs rage and dragons rule the sky. the release is scheduled for summer 2024.
