Time to retire: Microsoft Surface Duo will no longer receive software updates

Microsoft is ending support for the Surface Duo foldable smartphone.

Here's What We Know

The relevant information appeared on the manufacturer's website. The device will no longer receive the current Google security patches and fresh versions of the Android OS. The last system update for the gadget was released on September 10.

Flashback

Microsoft introduced the Surface Duo in 2020 with Android 10 on board. In January 2022, the device was updated to Android 11 and in October the same year, the gadget received Android 12L operating system.
