Microsoft Surface Laptop 4: old design, updated hardware and price starting from $999

Microsoft, without too much fuss, announced its new laptop - Surface Laptop 4.

What we know

As the name suggests, the device is the successor to Surface Laptop 3 that came out in 2019. The new one has the same appearance, but updated characteristics. The laptop is available in two sizes (13.5″ or 15″) and is also available with 11th Gen Intel or AMD Ryzen 4000 series processors. According to the company, Surface Laptop 4 has become 70% more powerful and with better battery life. It can work up to 19 hours on one charge.

There are the following ports in the device: USB-A, USB-C, 3.5 mm and Surface Connect for fast charging, but Thunderbolt is not present in the new product. As for the other specifications, they remain the same: 8/16/32 GB of RAM, 256/512/1 TB SDD, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, stereo speakers, studio microphone and 47.4 Wh battery.

Price and when to expect

Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 has already gone on sale in four colors. For the basic version with 13.5″, a Ryzen 5 chip and 8/256 GB of memory, is about $ 999.
