Microsoft Places, a new program for tracking your team's work in hybrid mode
Today, Oct. 12, Microsoft launched a new program at the Inginte conference designed specifically to address hybrid work. The app is called Microsoft Places, and the company says it will soon be available in beta.
Here's What We Know
A screenshot from the program, which Microsoft has published, shows us a dashboard that tracks what percentage of your team being in the office on a particular day and allows you to indicate where you will be working the next week. In addition, the program also helps organize work around people's locations by providing "statistics and directions" on travel times, as well as helping you navigate to workstations in the offices themselves.
Places is also designed to help managers plan office use, highlighting how space is being used so they can plan how much space might be needed in the future. Microsoft also advertises that Places will be able to offer information on "sentiment related to hybrid policies" to help managers decide how to organize their remote teams.
