At a time when the cryptocurrency market is not doing too well, Microsoft is deciding to build a wallet for storing them right into the Edge browser. This was reported by personal sources to The Verge. According to them, the giant has been testing the function within the company for several months.

Here's What We Know

Last week, a Twitter user named @thebookisclosed, who often documents unpublished Windows features, shared screenshots of a crypto wallet in the Microsoft Edge browser:

Microsoft's description of the crypto wallet says that it has a "simplified operation that makes it easy to interact with Web3" and that it has "integrated security features to protect you from insecure addresses or applications." Cryptocurrencies will be available through Coinbase and MoonPay exchanges, and of course, it will have the ability to connect decentralised applications and support NFTs.

Recently, Microsoft Edge has become an increasingly bloated browser with many features, such as a separate PDF viewer from Adobe, a Bing chatbot in the sidebar, or a video enhancement feature, but the question is: are all these features really necessary for users?
