Microsoft continues to add new features to Bing even beyond the GPT-based chatbot. According to a blog post, the AI-powered search engine can now generate stories for some searches, giving you a small multimedia presentation about the subject matter. Microsoft says this approach will allow you to "consume information in bite-sized chunks" when searching for specific topics.

Here's What We Know

Bing stories are generally similar to those on Instagram or Snapchat - a set of slides with a progress bar that shows you how much time you have left before moving on to the next slide. The slides themselves contain a textual description of what you searched for and can also contain related images and videos. You can also turn on the sound to have a voice read the text to you, accompanied by music.

Bing Stories won't appear every time - The Verge editors were able to see them when searching for "cubism," "impressionism," or "tai chi," but there were no stories when trying to find information about "iPhone" or "Apple."

Microsoft says the stories will be available to people searching in English, French, Japanese, German, Spanish, Russian, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Polish and Arabic.
