The Ukrainian Armed Forces use ground launchers to launch AIM-132 ASRAAM air-to-air missiles.

The information was shared by the British publication The Times. It is about homemade launchers on the basis of Supacat HMT truck. Thanks to this AIM-132 ASRAAM missiles can be used for air defence. Such mobile launchers can hit air targets at a distance of up to 25 kilometres.

The AIM-132 ASRAAM is a British guided air-to-air missile. It is developed and manufactured by MBDA. The missile is equipped with an infrared homing head. AIM-132 ASRAAM was developed specifically for the Royal Air Force of Great Britain and Australia. The missile replaced the AIM-9 Sidewinder. It can be launched by a variety of aircraft including the Eurofighter Typhoon, BAE Harrier II and Panavia Tornado.
