It seems that the epic with the delivery of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine is approaching its final stage.

Here's What We Know

According to the German publication t-online, the country's government will soon announce the transfer of missiles to Ukraine. Now Germany is negotiating on this issue with one of its main allies - the United States.

According to journalists, the German government is under strong pressure from opposition MPs, as well as some deputies of the ruling party. Parliamentarians have even set up a special group for this purpose. By the way, the German Air Force is also not against supplying missiles to Ukraine. Last week, the Chancellor's office received a presentation from the Federal Ministry of Defence, which summarised the most important facts about the Taurus: availability in the Bundeswehr, risks and effectiveness of the weapon.

Flashback

Taurus is a Swedish-German air-to-ground cruise missile. It is an analogue of the French-British Storm Shadow/SCALP EG missile. Taurus is designed for high-precision strikes and destruction of highly protected targets at a range of up to 500 kilometres. The missile is manufactured by Taurus Systems GmbH (a joint venture between MBDA Deutschland and Saab Bofors Dynamics AB). The approximate cost of one missile is $1,000,000.
