Moto S30 Pro: Snapdragon 888+ chip, 144Hz curved display and 68W fast charging for $326

Following Moto RAZR 2022 and Moto X30 Pro, Motorola has announced another new product.

We are talking about the inexpensive flagship Moto S30 Pro. Externally, the novelty resembles the Moto X30 Pro. The smartphone is equipped with a curved 6.55-inch OLED screen. It has received a resolution of FHD +, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a sensor reading rate of 360 Hz. The panel supports HDR10+, DCI-P3 color profile and DC Dimming feature.

Under the hood, the Moto S30 Pro is powered by last year's flagship Snapdragon 888+ processor. The chip is paired with LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage and liquid cooling. As for the cameras, there are four: a triple main one with sensors for 50 MP (OmniVision OV50A) + 13 MP (wide-angle module) + 2 MP (depth sensor) and a single front of 32 MP. The smartphone is powered by a 4270 mAh battery. It supports fast charging at 67W.

Out of the box, the novelty has the Android 12 operating system and the proprietary MyUI shell with Ready For 3.5 desktop mode.

Price and when to expect

The Moto S30 Pro has already started selling in China with the following prices:

  • Moto S30 Pro 8/128GB - $325
  • Moto S30 Pro 12/256GB - $400
  • Moto S30 Pro 12/512GB - $430

In the global market the smartphone will be released later and will be called Motorola Edge 30 Fusion.
