Moto X40 - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, two 50MP cameras, 60MP selfies, 125W charging and IP68 for $490

Last year, Motorola was the first to introduce a smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. A year later, it failed to pull the same trick, but the Moto X40 is still among the first with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

Here's What We Know

Along with Qualcomm's new platform, the flagship gets new memory - LPDDR5x and UFS 4.0. The volumes are 8/12GB and 128/512GB, respectively. The battery has a capacity of 4600 mA*h and supports wired charging capacity of 125 watts. And the power supply is included in the kit. The wireless charging capacity is 15 watts.

The Moto X40 is equipped with a FHD+ OLED screen with HDR10+ and 165Hz refresh rate. The diagonal is 6.7". On the front, there is a 60 MP front camera. The main camera has a resolution of 50 MP + 50 MP + 12 MP. It received a 2x zoom and OIS.

The novelty runs on the operating system Android 13 with the shell MYUI 5.0. One of the competitive advantages is the IP68 water protection.

Price & When We Can Expect It

A global premiere is out of the question, but in China the novelty will appear exactly a week later, on December 22. The cheapest version of the Moto X40 costs $490. You can see all the prices below:
