Motorola Edge (2022): the first smartphone on the market with a MediaTek Dimensity 1050 processor

Motorola has unexpectedly released its new smartphone on the global market.

The novelty was named Motorola Edge (2022). This is the first smartphone on the market, which is equipped with a new processor MediaTek Dimensity 1050. The chip is built on a 6-nanometer process. It has two 2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 cores, six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G610 MC3 video accelerator. The SoC supports 5G mm Wave connectivity.

As for other specs, the novelty received a 6.6-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution, aspect ratio of 20:9 and frequency of 144 Hz. In addition, the Motorola Edge (2022) is equipped with a 50 MP + 13 MP + 2 MP primary camera, a 32 MP front camera, 6/8 GB RAM, 128/256 GB of storage, a 5000 mAh battery and 30-watt TurboPower charging. The smartphone also supports 15W wireless charging. Out of the box, the Motorola Edge (2022) runs on the Android 12 operating system. The novelty has a proprietary My UX shell and Ready For desktop mode.

Price and when to expect

Motorola Edge (2022) will soon start selling in the United States. The novelty will cost initially $499, and then - $599.
