Nubia Z50 Ultra: 120Hz flat display with no holes or notches, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and 80W charging from $577

ZTE, as promised, held an event in China today to showcase its new flagship smartphone, the Nubia Z50 Ultra.

Here's What We Know

The novelty gets a body with dimensions of 163.9×76.3×8.3 mm, a weight of 228 grams, and a large 6.8-inch flat display with no holes or notches. The screen has an OLED matrix with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 960Hz sensor readout rate, 1500 nits peak brightness and 10-bit colour support.

Underneath the display, the smartphone has an OmniVision OV16E1Q front camera with a resolution of 16 megapixels and a pixel size of 2.24 μm. According to the manufacturer, the new technology transmits light 30% better than the last generation of the smartphone. Thanks to this and algorithms, screen transparency for selfies and video calling has increased by 50%. As for the main camera, it gets three 64 MP modules (Sony IMX787 with OIS) + 64 MP (periscope) + 50 MP (wide angle lens). The camera is paired with LED flash and multi-channel spectral sensors.

The Nubia Z50 Ultra is powered by the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The novelty also gets LPDDR5x RAM up to 16GB, UFS 4.0 storage up to 1TB, 5000mAh battery with 80W charging, cooling system, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, X-axis vibrator and USB-C port. The smartphone comes with Android 13 OS and MyOS 13 shell.

The Nubia Z50 Ultra will be launched in China on March 14 with the following prices:
