Gamers and critics are excited about the Quake 2 remaster. The updated game is receiving top marks on all platforms

Quake 2, the remaster of the cult shooter Quake 2, was recently released.

Here's What We Know

The updated version of Quake 2, which was worked on by the famous Nightdive studio (the author of System Shock remake), was warmly welcomed by gamers and critics and gets excellent marks on all platforms.

On Metacritic, the PC version received 90 points from professional reviewers and 7.9 from users.

On Opencritic, the shooter received a 91 score and 100% recommendation.

Steam users were also delighted with the new version of Quake 2 and left 93% "extremely positive" reviews (more than 4000 ratings).

Gamers and critics note that the developers did a great job with the transfer of the famous game to modern platforms, preserving its atmosphere, original idea, dynamics, while adding modern features and functions.

Quake 2 remaster is available on PC and all current consoles, including Nintendo Switch.

As a bonus, purchasers of the shooter will receive a set of 28 Call of the Machine levels and one map for the "Fight to the Death" mode from MachineGames studio.
