Volition, the studio behind the Saints Row series of games and Red Faction shooters, has announced its closure
Volition, the studio known to gamers for the Saints Row series and Red Faction shooters, has announced its closure.
Here's What We Know
In June, Swedish holding company Embracer Group, which included Volition studio, started a large-scale restructuring in order to optimise workflow and reduce costs.
Unfortunately, Volition didn't survive the changes and apparently the main factor in the studio's closure was the failure of the Saints Row reboot. The game was released in 2022 and not only failed to meet the developers' financial expectations, but also became unprofitable.
The studio has worked for 30 years and during this time released many quality games.
Volition's management thanks fans for their years of support and love for their games, and promises to help employees find new jobs.
Remedy, Amazon, Naughty Dog and Bungie have already announced that they would be happy to welcome Volition colleagues.
