R. Talsorian Games has announced the suspension of work on the development of a tabletop role-playing game based on The Witcher universe.

Here's What We Know

Lead developer of The Witcher universe game Cody Pondsmith gave an interview to IGN portal, in which he announced the news and explained the reasons for stopping work on the board game.

Cody Pondsmith said that his team had a creative conflict with CD Projekt RED, which insists that before the release of their new video game in The Witcher franchise should not be released board games that could reveal some details of the Polaris story.

Although the events of the board game are set in the period between The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and shouldn't directly relate to the plot of The Witcher: Polaris (working title), the Polish developers are keen to avoid even potential hints.

With The Witcher: Polaris not coming out until 2026 at the earliest, Cody Pondsmith's company is in for a long downtime. Hopefully, R. Talsorian Games will find something to do during such an extended period of time.
