The ship continues to sink: another creative director has left the development team of the infamous Skull And Bones
It seemed that Skull And Bones was dead for a long time, but miraculously, this game is still being developed and still plans to be released, only various troubles haunt it throughout its "voyage". This time, the crew lost another creative director.
Here's What We Know
According to Kotaku, Elisabeth Pellen, who started working on the game back in 2018, left Ubisoft's Singapore office (responsible for Skull And Bones) to return to the Paris headquarters.
Prior to that, she was Ubisoft's Vice President of Editorial Creative Oversight and Support for franchises such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and The Division.
When Elizabeth started working on Skull and Bones, she helped change the vision of the project from a multiplayer ship combat shooter to an exploration-focused piracy simulator. But according to her LinkedIn profile, she has returned to Ubisoft's Paris office as an editor. In an email to Kotaku, this information was also confirmed by an Ubisoft representative, but Pellen herself did not comment on it.
Flashback
At the end of August, Ubisoft held a closed beta test of Skull And Bones. Part of the audience liked the game, but there were also those who found the project boring. However, it is unlikely that the production hell (the game has been made since 2013) and constant postponements will be able to give gamers another interesting pirate adventure. It is better to remember Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and replay it.
