Players disliked the NBA 2K24 basketball simulator so much that the game was ranked second in the Hall of Shame rating
Sports simulators are often criticised for not offering something new and simply repeating the same model every year. However, there are cases when the situation is so critical that the game ends up in the Hall of Shame, and this is the case with NBA 2K24.
Here's What We Know
The basketball simulator NBA 2K24 was released on September 8, and currently, the game's reviews on the Steam page are extremely negative. Only 10% of players wrote something good about the game (though some of them are sarcastic). Players criticise the game for the presence of a large number of cheaters, not the best graphics, the lack of a cross-platform PC platform, and constant attempts to extract money from gamers, although 2K24 has hardly changed from the previous games in the series.
Such reviews quickly made themselves felt, and on the steam250 website, which creates various thematic selections of games, NBA2K24 took an honourable second place in the Hall of Shame. Only Overwatch 2 had a "better" result, taking 1st place. Only Overwatch 2 is at least free, while 2K24 requires a $60 fee.
Whether this will make the publisher and developers think about something and change their approach to creating the next basketball simulator is a mystery. But if the game earns millions of dollars, then we can't hope for better changes.
