Fighting for all: in Mortal Kombat 1 the developers from NetherRealm studio have provided a lot of accessibility settings for gamers with disabilities
Fighting games have always been as demanding as possible on the player's reactions and individual skills. Just a few years ago, players with disabilities could not imagine that they would be able to play such dynamic games.
In Mortal Kombat 1 everyone will be able to play - the developers from NetherRealm studio told about it.
Here's What We Know
Accessibility means preventing and correcting any unnecessary friction or barriers that prevent people with various disabilities from enjoying games. We believe that games are for everyone, and we strive to create and support accessible games for all of our players.
NetherRealm's game designers revealed that Mortal Kombat 1 features many accessibility settings for a wide variety of gamers.
Perhaps the most popular option will be automatic detailed audio description of fatalities for visually impaired players. Moreover, the smallest details are voiced, including ridiculous or funny situations.
In the game there will be a voiceover of menu settings, proximity to the edge of the arena, health level and other parameters.
In Mortal Kombat 1 you can customize each element of the soundtrack, including sounds of cutscenes, music, announcer, environment, dialogue and other sound effects.
To avoid customising each aspect separately, you can select one of the preset options.
There will be settings for those players who have problems with hand motor skills. The developers have thought over the possibility of reassigning buttons, replacing key combinations by pressing one button and much more.
When We Can Expect It
Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 19 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
