The first RPG game, Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, has received an early access remake on PC
American developer Digital Eclipse has announced a remake of Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, the first RPG game in history and one of the first D&D games for PC.
Here's What We Know
The game was originally released on the Apple II computer in 1981, and later ported to many systems, including Mac, C64, and NES, and in Japan it was also ported to the Super Famicom and Game Boy Color.
According to the developers, the remake is actually built on the basis of the original Apple II game code, and players can switch between the original interface during the game to compare the new and old versions. In addition to modern visuals, the remake also offers improved party management, navigation, spells, and combat.
When We Can Expect It
Currently, Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord is currently available in early access on GOG and Steam.
