On September 21, PayDay 3, a co-operative first-person heist shooter, was released. Although players and critics did not like the game very much, the shooter had a good online peak.

Here's What We Know

According to SteamDB, on the day of release, PayDay 3's online peak reached 78 thousand players. This figure was reached at 19:00, but at 20:00, more than 30 thousand players stopped playing the game. And it is unclear how long many people will want to play PayDay 3, because, as some people like to say, "it's not so clear cut".

The game received mixed reviews due to the fact that it does not offer a lot of content at release (only 8 missions are available), there are bugs in the game, it is very difficult to find a lobby with players, there is no possibility to play offline, and the stealth element is implemented crookedly. Sometimes you can find the opinion that it is best to buy a game when at least a few DLCs are released for it. So it is interesting how quickly the authors will offer something new or at least fix something that does not work well, because then it will be impossible to keep players around.

Although it is also worth reminding that the developers have made more than 80 add-ons for PayDay 2. So the sequel still has every chance to rehabilitate. Besides, there are enough cases in history when a game was raw at release, and then it was revived with a bunch of content and became popular again (hello, Cyberpunk 2077).

PayDay 3 is available on PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5. The game received 69 points from critics and 5 points from players on Metacritic.
