Nostalgia is assured: Assassinʼs Creed Mirage's art director talked about the graphical filter that will make the game look as much like the first part of the franchise as possible
It is known that Assassin's Creed Mirage is created taking into account the wishes of fans of the first parts of the series. This is expressed not only in the setting, narrative structure and open world concept, but also in the artwork.
Here's What We Know
Fans of Assassin's Creed remember that the first part of the game had a characteristic graphic style in grey-blue tones. Ubisoft has long said that Mirage will also have a similar filter to bring the game as close to the 2007 game's style as possible.
Game Informer magazine interviewed the game's art director Jean-Luc Sala, who said that although Assassin's Creed Mirage's original style is very different from the visuals of the first instalment, the aforementioned graphical filter will help convey a nostalgic atmosphere and change the perception of Baghdad.
We know players (and I'm one of them) who feel nostalgic [for the grey-blue hues of the first part].
We want to show the setting of the Middle East in that light and say, 'It's here if you want it that way.' It's like playing L.A. Noire with a black-and-white filter or Ghost of Tsushima with a Kurosawa filter.
This filter is optionally enabled and it will allow you to experiment with the game's visuals.
When We Can Expect It
Assassinʼs Creed Mirage will release on 5 October on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
It was recently revealed that Assassinʼs Creed Mirage will also be released on the iPhone 15 Pro.
