Work is boiling: the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is in the concept stage. CD Projekt is already working on the new game and investing a lot of resources in it
Today CD Projekt held a large-scale presentation for investors, where the Polish developer not only reported on Cyberpunk 2077 sales and plans for the film adaptation of its game, but also shared important information about the development of its sequel.
Here's What We Know
Creative Director of CD Projekt RED Adam Badowski said that the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 under the working title Project Orion is at the concept stage.
At this stage, the developers are thinking about the main elements that will form the basis of the new game, think about its plot and determine the stylistics.
According to Badowski, CD Projekt plans to invest heavily in Project Orion. Two teams will work on the game: in Poland and in a specially created for the game studio in Boston (USA) CD Projekt Red North America.
Recall that all future CD Projekt projects will be developed on Unreal Engine, which should potentially speed up the work on the project, but the fact that Project Orion is at the concept stage indicates that the game is unlikely to be released before 2030.
