1% will be affected: players with DirectX 9 and 32-bit operating systems or macOS will not be able to play Counter-Strike 2
Valve has announced that players using DirectX 9 and 32-bit operating systems, as well as macOS, will not be able to play Counter-Strike 2. Although this applies to less than one per cent of active players.
Here's What We Know
For these players, there is only one option left - to play the Legacy build of CS:GO. This version is no different from the regular CS:GO, but it lacks matchmaking. Support for this version will end on 1 January 2024, but it will remain available.
If you have DirectX 9 and a 32-bit operating system or use macOS, you can get a refund for the Prime status you purchased in CS. But there are some conditions.
The first category can apply for a refund if their purchase was made between the announcement of the Counter-Strike 2 limited testing (22 March 2023) and the launch of Counter-Strike 2 (27 September 2023).
MacOS owners can also request a refund if the majority of your CS:GO play time was spent on macOS and you played CS:GO on Mac between the announcement of the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Testing (22 March 2023) and the launch of Counter-Strike 2 (27 September 2023), regardless of when you purchased Prime.
The offer is valid until December 1, 2023.
