After the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED studio is gradually switching to the development of the sequel to the acclaimed game.

Narrative director of CD Projekt RED Igor Sarzyński gave an interview to PCgamer portal, in which he shared what effect the developers want to achieve when creating the sequel.

Here's What We Know

Sarzyński said that when developing the game with the working title Project Orion, which will be the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, game designers are striving for the same technological and artistic progress, which was observed at the release of all three parts of The Witcher. Back then, each of the games in the fantasy trilogy was far superior in quality to its predecessor and different in gameplay and even style.

Igor Sazzyński explained that Cyberpunk 2077 will be a solid foundation on which CD Projekt will build a truly revolutionary project. He admitted that the development of the first game turned out far from what the developers expected, but the improvements that were achieved in numerous patches, the biggest update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion have brought Cyberpunk 2077 to a qualitatively different level. And the current version of the game will be used to create an exemplary sequel, which, remember, is being created on the Unreal Engine, which should simplify and speed up the work without loss of quality.
