A study in the US has shown that children would most like to receive video game-related gifts for Christmas
The Entertainment Software Developers Association surveyed 501 children aged 10-17 in the US to find out what gifts they would like to receive for Christmas.
Here's What We Know
The most popular wish was a subscription to games, such as Game Pass or PlayStation Plus (39%), followed by consoles (38%), game accessories (32%), and in-game currency (29%). Only 22% of children surveyed would like to receive physical copies of games.
The Association also surveyed more than 500 adults. Every third person plans to buy video games for themselves or others, and 57% of parents are considering buying video game-related gifts for their children.
Overall, gaming-related gifts outperformed all other gifts and are in first place.
Stanley Pierre-Louis, president and CEO of the Entertainment Software Developers Association, said that more than 212 million Americans play video games regularly, so it's no surprise that games are at the top of this year's wish lists.
