Electronic Arts fully supports the initiative of developers who increase the level of accessibility of their for all categories of gamers.
The American company has expanded the list of its accessibility technologies that are in open use.
Here's What We Know
Electronic Arts has given third-party developers the opportunity to use accessibility technologies for three more of its games: EA Sports FC 24, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst and EA Sports WRC.
Among other things, these include IRIS technology, which protects users with light sensitivity, and the route navigation system, which were first used in Mirror's Edge Catalyst.
Kerry Hopkins - senior vice president of global affairs at EA - expressed her belief that this way their company promotes equal opportunities for gamers with different physical limitations:
Our patent pledge was created on the principle that everyone, regardless of their situation, should be able to enjoy video games. We continue to build on that promise by opening up access to our IRIS light sensitivity tool and opening up the possibility of additional proprietary technology that could help players with motor, cognitive, visual and other disabilities have a smoother gaming experience
