Retro shooter Dusk gets HD resolution support in new free-to-play expansion to celebrate its fifth anniversary
It's been five years since the retro first-person shooter Dusk by David Szymanski and New Blood Interactive became a commercial success, effectively heralding the beginning of the boomer shooter genre's revival. To mark this event, the developers released a free DLC that added support for HD textures to the game.
Here's What We Know
Dusk HD offers redesigned resources for all existing visual elements, including enemy and weapon models. Several new elements have also been added, such as new weapons and enemies. However, the game still retains its fast-paced action and unassuming massive polygons that make it so addictive. It takes players on a Lovecraftian hellish adventure deep beneath the earth's surface, where they must fight cultists, monsters and other evil spirits.
Dusk HD is available as a free download as DLC if you already own the base game. If you don't, you have a great opportunity to make up for it now, as the game is currently on Steam with a -66% discount. The game also comes with official Steam Workshop support, allowing players to create and upload their own modifications.
Where To Play
Dusk is available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Windows, macOS, Linux, and Amazon Luna.
