"Prince of Persia is not the same anymore" - stated the majority of gamers right after the presentation of action-platformer Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Well, it really is not the same, but it's for the best.

Critics and journalists of the world's leading gaming media tried the new Ubisoft project and shared their impressions.

Here's What We Know

Unfortunately for the haters, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown received unexpectedly high marks from experts.

Critics do not hide their delight from dynamic and smooth gameplay, colourful visuals, excellent level design, complete absence of any technical problems, innovative for the metroidvania genre elements, intense and deep combat system and a huge number of accessibility settings that will allow almost any gamer to pass The Lost Crown.

The only aspect that doesn't receive praise is the story. It didn't turn out bad, but it was predictable and somewhat strained. However, we should note that for games of this genre, the plot is not a priority.

The most important thing is that many critics are sincerely convinced that the new game of the series is superior to the famous parts that were released from 2003 to 2005.

As a result, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown received the following scores:

  • Metacritic, PS5 version - 86 points;
  • Metacritic, Xbox Series version - 86 points;
  • Metacritic, Nintendo Switch version - 89 points;
  • Metacritic, PC version - 84 points;
  • Opencritic - 86 points with 94% recommendation.

When We Can Expect It

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will release on 18 January on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
