Capcom announces cancellation of Resident Evil Revelations update that added DRM to the game
Capcom has decided to withdraw its latest update for Resident Evil Revelations on PC, which added a new copy protection known as Enigma Protector to the game. After the update was released, the game received numerous negative reviews on Steam.
Here's What We Know
It seems that the update has led to a deterioration in the game's performance, a decrease in frame rate, and the inoperability of user mods. Capcom published a message on Steam announcing the cancellation of the update:
"Due to an issue observed with the latest update released, we have reverted the corresponding update. We apologize for the inconvenience caused, and once the issue is resolved, we will re-release the update."
Note that Capcom uses Enigma Protector in a number of its games, such as Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection and Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.
Where To Play
In addition to PC, Resident Evil Revelations is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
