Sam Lake: The Lake House expansion for Alan Wake 2 will focus on the Federal Bureau of Investigation
Even before the release of Alan Wake 2, it was known that the game would receive two paid add-ons: Night Springs and The Lake House. Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy, told exputer a little more about the DLC in an interview.
Here's What We Know
Sam did not give a clear answer to the question of whether we will play as someone other than Saga and Alan in the expansion. He only noted that more and more interesting characters are appearing in the Remedy universe. And the team is happy to look for opportunities to pay more attention to them and tell interesting stories.
Control fans remember that the AWE expansion in the game was a teaser for Alan Wake 2, so now players are wondering if there will be something similar in the DLC for AW 2. But Sam Lake says that the authors do not want to repeat this experience in detail. He also noted that the main focus of The Lake House DLC will be on the Federal Bureau of Control and its research centre on Lake Cauldron.
Flashback
Night Springs is set to release in late spring 2024, although Remedy noted that the release window is subject to change. You can read the official description of the expansion below:
"Visions and dreams. Fiction is written and becomes reality. Fiction is destroyed and remains only words on a page. These are the stories... in Night Springs. Play as some of the familiar characters from Alan Wake's world and explore the unexplainable in several standalone episodes of Night Springs, a fictional TV show set in the world of Alan Wake."
The Lake House DLC does not yet have a release date, but it also has an official description:
"Lake House is a mysterious facility located on the shores of Lake Cauldron, created by an independent government organisation to conduct secret research... until something goes wrong. Explore this place and embark on two separate adventures as the realities of the Anderson and Alan Wake Saga collide once again."
Owners of the Deluxe Edition will receive two add-ons automatically.
Where To Play
Alan Wake 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
