Prison Architect 2 developers talked about the benefits of moving to 3D graphics
Last week publisher Paradox Interactive and Double11 studio announced Prison Architec 2 - sequel of the popular prison construction and management simulator.
From the first frames of the debut trailer it was seen that the main difference between the sequel and the 2013 game is 3D-graphics, and many fans were surprised by such a move of the developers.
Here's What We Know
Prison Architec 2 gameplay director Gareth Wright explained that the switch to 3D graphics will allow the developers to realise more creative ideas, first of all it concerns multi-storey locations, thanks to which players will be able to build more complex and unique prisons.
Gameplay designers will provide players with more opportunities to organise life in the prison, including the automation of processes and logistics.
3D-graphics will also change the appearance of characters, making them more realistic and predictable, as prisoners will have not only full faces, but also hands, which will allow to recognise and prevent danger in time.
By the way, because of the transition to 3D, Prison Architect 2 will have fewer prisoners than in the first part, and the locations will become more spacious.
When We Can Expect It
Prison Archite 2 will be released on the 26th of March on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
Gamers are encouraged to pre-order the game.
