The developers of Total War: Pharaoh have detailed the mechanics that will appear in the game with the release of the free High Tide add-on
British studio Creative Assembly presented a video about new mechanics that will appear in the historical strategy Total War: Pharaoh with the release of the High Tide add-on.
Here's What We Know
High Tide was planned as a paid DLC, but due to justified criticism of Total War: Pharaoh the developers made it free as an apology.
In High Tide, players will get two more factions of sea peoples Sherden and Peleset. Together they will bring 37 units and new gameplay mechanics to the game.
For example, Sherden and Peleset can be nomadic or sedentary, but a hybrid variant is also possible. The basis of gameplay for these factions will be the construction of tribal outposts, which give various bonuses and advantages over the enemy, and can be the key to victory.
It is noteworthy that sea tribes do not need to own territory to build outposts - they can build them even on the enemy's land.
Another new mechanic will be war trophies, which will help you discover valuable objects to capture and allow you to get more resources.
When We Can Expect It
The free High Tide add-on will be released on 25 January 2024 only on Steam, as the game is not available on the Epic Games Store yet.
