The developers of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 have published an article about diving into the World of Darkness
The Chinese Room continues to share interesting details about Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 creative director Alex Skidmore published the eighth issue of the development diary with the title "Explore the World of Darkness".
Here's What We Know
In the article, the developer revealed that the main elements of immersion in Bloodlines 2 are the game's setting, story and characters.
The main place of action will be Seattle, but its game version does not exactly replicate the real city, because in Bloodlines 2 it is depicted from the point of view of a vampire, not a human.
The developers tried to make the city contrasting, so the buildings are made taller, the alleys are darker, and the central streets shine with light and neon day and night.
Many places in Seattle are not what they appear to be. As one such example, Skidmore mentioned a 24-hour coffee shop run by a sweet old lady, but she turns out to be an ancient vampire who doesn't mind eating the blood of her customers.
Seattle is at the complete mercy of the Camarilla, a sort of legislative body for all vampire communities. The Camarilla suppresses all attempts at rebellion and punishes those who break their laws.
The protagonist of Bloodlines 2 Phyre (Phyre is a female character, but players will be able to choose a male version of the protagonist) is in the highest circles of the Camarilla as a judicial sheriff. Fyre has been in hibernation for a hundred years and during this time has lost some of her power, so her main goal is to regain her abilities and influence in Seattle.
Gamers will get plenty of opportunities to feel like a bloodthirsty vampire, but they need to refrain from ill-considered actions, so as not to break the Masquerade and not to give themselves away.
When We Can Expect It
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will release in autumn 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
