Very interesting, but not quite clear: the creator of the NieR series has published an intriguing message
NieR (and Drakengard) series creator Yoko Taro recently hinted at a possible sequel to the franchise. During a concert in London, he asked fans in attendance about their desire to see a sequel to NieR: Automata.
In a new message on Twitter, the Japanese developer continued to intrigue the public.
Here's What We Know
Yoko Taro, who is known for his love of wordplay and encrypted messages, posted a message with one word "r3incarnationan".
NieR fans know that there is a mobile game called NieR Re[in]carnation, which came out three years ago and will receive its last update in March, after which its support will end.
It's hard to say if Yoko Taro's message and the end of support for NieR Re[in]carnation are related, but we can assume that the developer used the number "3" instead of the letter "E" for a reason. Perhaps it is a hint to the development of the third full-fledged part, which could be a direct sequel to NieR: Automata.
However, the word "Reincarnation" (Reincarnation) in theory could mean that the new game will be a complete reboot of the series.
Or maybe the Japanese game designer means the release of mobile NieR Re[in]carnation on PC and consoles?
As always, Yoko Taro's hints have a lot of interpretations and hidden meanings, so it's impossible to say for sure which of the presented versions is correct.
We are waiting for the next hint.
