Game Informer magazine published some important details about ambitious action game No Rest for the Wicked from the authors of platformers Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps from Moon Studios.

Here's What We Know

Here is a brief extract of the most interesting theses:

  • the game will have the ability to customise the main character;
  • the style of the game depends not on the chosen class, as in many similar games, but on the weapon used;
  • shining spheres are used as control points in the game. They replenish the player's health, but resurrect all killed enemies (except bosses) - in essence, it is an analogue of bonfires from Dark Souls;
  • No Rest for the Wicked has a dynamic day/night cycle, so resources are refreshed once a day;
  • you can get additional quests by chatting with characters or reading the information on the notice board;
  • after passing the main story, players will have access to Cerim's Crucible dungeons, the structure of which is reminiscent of roguelike games. When creating them, the developers were inspired by the dungeons of the first part of Diablo and Hades;
  • in Cerim's Crucible players will receive unique equipment and meet fierce resistance from enemies;
  • the developers have added a music box to No Rest for the Wicked, which plays different tunes, including those from Ori games.

When We Can Expect It

No Rest for the Wicked will be released on the 18th of April, but unfortunately it will be only Steam Early Access, when the full version will be released is still unknown, as well as the release date of the console versions.
