Former director of Ridgeline Games: "I can't say anything positive about EA"
In recent years, the Battlefield series has been going through a rough patch. The situation is saved only by moments when the game receives crazy discounts and the peak online traffic grows to the sky, but otherwise, players complain that the series has gone in the wrong direction. And at the end of February 2024, it became known that EA had closed Ridgeline Games, the studio that created the Battlefield storyline campaign. And now Marcus Lehto, the CEO of Ridgeline Games, has commented on this situation.
Here's What We Know
Marcus wrote on Twitter that he doesn't talk much about all this, because he can't say anything positive about EA, as well as about his team, which suffered from massive layoffs in the industry.
Now, part of the team has moved to Ripple Effect, which will work on the story with Criterion.
Although massive layoffs are happening in many large studios, EA is not the only one to be guilty of this, as the industry has become very bloated in recent years, and now it is clear that this scale needs to be reduced somewhat. However, Electronic Arts must now work hard to deliver a good gift to Battlefield fans for the first time in a long time.
