Konami denies expanding the Pyramid Head storyline in Silent Hill 2 remake: Bloober Team doesn't stray from the canonical horror storyline
Yesterday, the gaming community was actively discussing information posted by Best Buy.
On the Silent Hill 2 remake page it was stated that in the updated horror game studio Bloober Team will expand the storyline and backstory of the iconic monster Pyramid Head, which became a trademark of the famous Japanese franchise.
However, this information is not true.
Here's What We Know
PC Gamesn portal requested a comment from Konami representatives and received a reply.
The Japanese publisher denied the information about the increase in script time in favour of Pyramidhead. It turned out that a Best Buy employee misinterpreted information from one of the original game's creators Masahiro Ito, who is involved in the development of the Silent Hill 2 remake.
After the game's announcement in October 2022, the Japanese said that "Pyramid Head is coming back after 20 years" and it was this phrase that somehow turned into a statement of fact in the mind of a Best Buy employee: the monster will get more attention in the game.
In addition, Bloober Team management has repeatedly stated that they will not deviate from the game's canonical story and concept.
Although, we're sure that many Silent Hill fans wouldn't mind the confirmation of information from Best Buy and would be happy to dive into the Pyramidhead's story.
When We Can Expect It
Silent Hill 2 Remake is expected to release in 2024.
The game will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive for a year.
