Sony is already investigating the situation with hackers who stole confidential information from Insomniac Games
We wrote that hackers hacked into Insomniac Games servers and stole confidential information, including the new Marvel's Wolverine game. Now Sony has given an official comment on this situation.
Here's What We Know
Eurogamer portal took a comment from Sony, the company said the following:
"We are aware of reports that Insomniac Games has been the victim of a cyber security attack. We are currently investigating this situation. We have no reason to believe that any other SIE or Sony divisions have been impacted".
As a reminder, the attackers from a group called Rhysida have obtained screenshots and materials about the new Marvel's Wolverine game, as well as documents of a number of employees, including Yuri Lowenthal, the actor who voiced Peter Parker in the Marvel's Spider-Man games.
The hackers demanded a ransom of 50 bitcoins (about $2 million) from Insomniac Games. They gave the company a week to make a decision, but have already started looking for buyers for the stolen information through an auction.
