Rise of the Ronin developers told about the game's factions
The developers from Team Ninja have published new details about their upcoming open-world action game Rise of the Ronin on the PlayStation Store page.
Here's What We Know
The game will have three key factions: Sabaku, Tobaku, and Obei. The Sabaku faction represents those who are loyal to the Tokugawa Shogunate and seek to maintain centralised rule in Japan. This faction is headed by Chief Minister Naosuke Ii, known as the Red Demon of Ii, and the renowned geisha Taka Murayama.
The Tobaku faction, on the other hand, opposes the shogunate, led by Ryoma Sakamoto and Kogoro Katsura. Players may recognise Sakamoto as the former ronin of the Tosa clan, who is skilled with swords and western pistols. He is joined by Kogoro Katsura, a servant of the Choshu clan known for his careful strategy.
A third important faction, the Obei, represents Western forces seeking to open Japan to trade with the United States and European powers. This faction is led by US Navy Commodore Matthew Perry and British diplomat Rutherford Alcock.
Where To Play
The game will be available on PlayStation 5 only.
When We Can Expect It
Rise of the Ronin is scheduled for release on 22 March.
