In addition to the PvP mode, Foamstars will also have a co-op PvE mode and a single-player mode
Recently, Square Enix announced the exact release date of Foamstars, but it also revealed a few new details about the game.
Here's What We Know
Players who are not too interested in PvP games will be able to play in single or co-operative mode. They will defend Bat-Vegas from the attacks of Bubble Beasties, either alone or with friends. Producer Kosuke Okatani noted that this mode is similar to Salmon Run from Splatoon.
Okatani also said that the developers may add more solo and co-op content in the future:
"First we wanted to establish this game as a new IP and focus on the PvP element. On the other hand, we do expect fans of Square Enix RPGs to look at this game and want to try it out and maybe find it’s too hard for them. For players like that, so they can get used to the game and the PvP side of the game, we introduced Mission Mode, where they can play by themselves and see conversations between the characters. Since this is a game we will continuously work on, if we see that introducing more single-player-focused elements would benefit the game, then we would definitely consider it."
