Arrowhead Game Studios on Helldivers 2: "We really went out of our way not to make a pay-to-win game"
Helldivers 2, which was released a few days ago, has quickly become the most successful project Sony has released on Steam, with over 156,000 concurrent users and around 360,000 players if you count PlayStation 5 players. Among the many things that players liked about the game was its monetisation - the in-game currency Super Credits and Premium War Bonds can be purchased for real money or earned in-game. The players were concerned about certain weapons that are available only for Premium War Bond.
Here's What We Know
In response to this, Johan Pilestedt, CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, stressed on his Twitter account (X) that the only item that is paid for is a revolver. The executive is convinced that developers have the right to monetise in order to provide them with the opportunity to support the game.
By the way, one of the authors of gg recently made a great review on Helldivers 2, so if you haven't read it yet, you are welcome to!
