"Bloodborne is in my heart", declared Hidetaka Miyazaki, but didn't give even a hint of a remake or sequel to the iconic game
In a big interview with Eurogamer FromSoftware's head and creative director Hidetaka Miyazaki talked not only about the first details of Shadow of the Erdtree add-on for Elden Ring, but also touched upon his other legendary game - Bloodborne.
Here's What We Know
For years now, gamers have been dreaming about the release of the sequel and availability on PC of one of the best games of the souls-like genre - Bloodborne.
The game was released in 2015 and has been a PlayStation 4 exclusive ever since. Surprisingly, Sony hasn't even released an improved version of the dystopian action game for the PS5, even though the demand from gamers is huge.
Nine years since Bloodborne's release, it's as if Sony and FromSoftware have completely ignored the game despite its colossal success. In an interview with Eurogamer, Miyazaki was asked a number of questions about Bloodborne, but all of the answers were extremely vague.
For example, the Japanese game designer stated that he was "very happy that millions of gamers like the game so much and he likes it too." He supported the idea that Bloodborne should be available to as many users as possible, but also extremely streamlined: "accessibility is important" was all Miyazaki said.
Given that the rights to Bloodborne are wholly owned by Sony, apparently Miyazaki can't talk about it.
It's a shame that such a great game is being overlooked by the rights holder. We can only hope that one day Sony will remember about gamers' dreams of Bloodborne and release a worthy sequel to the game or at least its re-release.
