The Washington Post: the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy will forever be a PlayStation console exclusive

Many Xbox console users continue to hope that Final Fantasy VII Remake and its sequel subtitled Rebirth will be released on the platform sooner rather than later, as well as the announced third instalment that is in development. In addition, many insiders are also fuelling gamers' sentiments by regularly reporting that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on Xbox "soon".

Christian Svensson, Sony Interactive Entertainment's Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Third Party Partnerships, decided to stop speculations on this topic.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Christian Svensson said that Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will forever remain PlayStation console exclusives.

In the original version of the article, the author of the material Gene Park indicated that the final part of the trilogy will never be released on competitors' consoles, remaining a PlayStation console exclusive, but later the publication was edited and the journalist said that the topic of the third part was not raised in conversation with Christian Svensson, they talked only about the already released games.

According to Svensson, the decision to release Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth only on PS and some time later on PC was a purposeful, principled and mutual decision with Square Enix.
