One of the Redmi Note 8 smartphones will soon get a stable global MIUI 14 powered by Android 13
Xiaomi will soon start updating one of the Redmi Note 8 family of smartphones to MIUI 14. As you might have guessed, the update will be available for the newest model itself.
Here's What We Know
We're talking about the Redmi Note 8 2021, of course. The smartphone was announced about two years after the release of the Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8T and Redmi Note 8 Pro. The 2021 model came out with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.
The company has started internally testing a global version of MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The beta version of the firmware is numbered v14.0.1.0 TCUMIXM. The exact release date of the stable MIUI 14 is not yet known, but it will be available within the next few weeks. According to xiaomiui, it will take place in early March, which is probably as early as next week.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 is a slightly updated version of the 2019 model. The smartphone launched immediately on the global market and got the Helio G85 chip instead of the Snapdragon 665. However, it retains a 48 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP primary camera, a 13 MP selfie module, a 6.3" IPS display and a 4,000mAh battery.
